Our client is seeking a dynamic and qualified Accountant to join their team in Limassol. Travel may be required between locations and/or client offices in Europe.
The Organisation’s clients are businesses in a variety of industries including regulated financial services firms and also provide business support services that include HR, accounting, tax, management, property management, compliance, IT, and general advisory services.
Job Description
- Manage a portfolio of projects for clients, including but not limited to asset purchasing and disposals, property agreements, accounting, audit, communication of clients and suppliers, liaising with authorities and service providers etc
- Working closely with the clients’ senior management, finance executives and management in delivering the objectives and timetable for all group corporate accounting, financial reporting, tax and regulatory/compliance functions.
- Preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts and annual financial statements.
- Accounting transactions, preparation of VAT returns, reconciliations etc.
- Managing purchase orders and regularly reviewing the Petty Cash system and the fixed asset register
- Consistent and efficient cooperation with other departments such as HR, IT, Legal (compliance) and Admin and continuous overview, to ensure that the financial function exercises control across all different departments
- Cost control as required and reporting on activities including investments, moveable and immovable property and other company assets, and any other responsibilities
- Review and participation in finalisation of contracts and agreements, including heir commercial and legal terms
- Active involvement in day to day problem solving
Required Skills & Experience
- ACA or ACCA Qualified Accountant, with at least 3 years post qualification experience in a similar role.
- Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from a top University will be considered an advantage.
- Computer literate (Microsoft Office Packages) with experience in using accounting software and databases.
- Fluent in English.
- Highly ethical, trustworthy, reliable, discreet individual, who is willing to work in a challenging work environment.
- Excellent planning, prioritisation, communication and interpersonal skills.
- High energy and focus
- Negotiation skills and commercial awareness.
- Proactive with the ability to take initiative and follow through on decisions with management and to provide the best possible proposals and preparation for management decisions.
