Our client is an AIFM (Alternative Investment Fund Managers), regulated by CySEC, with premises located in Limassol and they are looking to recruit a dynamic individual in the role of Head of Compliance and AML
Job Details:
- As the Head of Compliance and AML Department of the Company, candidate will be in charge with the following key duties and responsibilities :
- To monitor and to assess the adequacy and effectiveness of the measures and procedures put in place by the Employer in accordance with its obligations under the Investment Services and Activities and Regulated Markets Law of 2007, as amended and as may be amended from time to time, and the Prevention and Suppression of Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Law of 2007, as amended and as may be amended from time to time, (hereinafter collectively referred to as the "Laws") and any directives, circulars, guidance and other documents of regulatory content published or as may be published by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (hereinafter referred to as the "Directives");
- To formulate and develop and to advise in relation to formulation and development of the measures and procedures of the Employer to ensure compliance with the obligations imposed by the Laws and the Directives;
- To monitor and to assess the adequacy and effectiveness of the actions taken to address any deficiencies in the Employer's compliance with its obligations under the Laws and the Directives;
- To report to any such person or persons, as may be nominated by the Employer, any deficiencies found in the measures and procedures put in place by the Employer and/or in the actions taken to address any deficiencies, indicating any such deficiencies found and suggesting appropriate course of action to ensure compliance with the Laws and the Directives;
- To advise and assist the Board of Directors, the senior management, the relevant persons responsible for carrying out investment services and activities and any other persons employed by the Employer in respect of any matters to the extent necessary to ensure compliance by the Employer with the obligations imposed by the Laws and the Directives;
- To perform monitoring functions in respect of the relevant persons responsible for carrying out investment services and activities and any other persons employed by the Employer to the extent necessary to ensure compliance by the Employer with the obligations imposed by the Laws and the Directives;
- To participate and to supervise the account opening processes for customers of the Employer and to monitor activities of customers through accounts with the Employer to the extent necessary to ensure compliance by the Employer with the obligations imposed by the Laws and the Directives;
- To monitor legal developments that relate to and/or affect the Employer or pursuit of the activities of the Employer, including without limitation the applicable legislations of the Republic of Cyprus and the European Union, and to report to any such person or persons, as may be nominated by the Employer, any material findings;
- To supervise the process of submission of reports, returns, notifications and other messages to any authorities or bodies, to the extent necessary to ensure compliance by the Employer with the obligations imposed by the Laws and the Directives;
- To organize internal training seminars for the persons employed by the Employer, to the extent necessary to ensure compliance by the Employer with the obligations imposed by the Laws and the Directives;
- To assist the Board of Directors of the Employer with the exercise and performance of their functions, to the extent necessary to ensure compliance by the Employer with the obligations imposed by the Laws and the Directives;
- To keep and to maintain appropriate records and registers that are and that may be entrusted to the Employee, to the extent necessary to ensure compliance by the Employer with the obligations imposed by the Laws and the Directives;
- To act in the capacity of the compliance officer in the manner prescribed by the law for the Authorisation and Operating Conditions of the company;
- To act in the capacity of the compliance officer in the manner prescribed by the Directives and Law for the Prevention of Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing;
- To comply with such additional duties as may be prescribed from time to time by the Employer and to follow orders of such person or persons as may be nominated by the Employer, always provided that compliance with such duties and orders by the Employee does not result and is not liable to result in a violation of any law, statute, regulation or obligations otherwise imposed by the Laws and/or the Directives;
Reporting Relationship:
- Required to report directly to the Board of Directors and/or Senior Management of the Company.
Remuneration:
- Base Salary: 3000 EUR for the probation period, 3500 EUR after passing the probation period
- As mentioned , based on the candidate experience and skills , we are flexible to consider other level of the remuneration .
Other benefits:
- The Company will arrange upon completion of the probation period a health insurance coverage.
Working hours and duration:
- The employment shall be in Cyprus at the registered office of the Company (Limassol).
- The employment shall be for thirty six calendar months from the date of signing of the employment agreement.
- The working hours shall be from 09:00 am to 18:00 pm Cyprus time with one hour lunch break.
- Candidate will be entitled to fully paid annual leave in the amount of 21 (twenty one) days each year as well as to all official public holidays in the Republic of Cyprus.
Criteria:
- BSc/MSc in Business, Economics or Law
- At least 5 years of experience in a similar position either in a compliance department within the financial sector or a compliance consulting firm
- A related professional qualification ( CFA, BAR, etc. ) will be a strong plus
- Holder of CySE advanced certificate
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Close attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, Russian and Greek
- Cyprus, EU citizenship required
