The Social Media Manager is responsible for implementing the company’s social media marketing strategy and managing social media marketing campaigns and day-to-day activities across the company’s social media channels. The main goal is to develop brand awareness and effectively communicate the company’s unique value proposition in all relevant social media outlets in order to generate traffic and cultivate leads and sales.
The Social Media Manager is a highly motivated individual with experience and in depth knowledge of social media channels; possesses a passion for socializing and an ability to oversee the creation of good design for appropriate visual branding on company social media accounts as well as create relevant content to stimulate community interaction and participation.
Duties and Responsibilities
Implements the company’s social media strategy – determine objectives , develop action plan for execution and provide revisions to strategy where necessary
Manages all company social media sites
Creates, implements and manages social media campaigns
Skilled at using available social media tools to schedule and optimize reach
Sociable on the company’s social media channels to foster engagement and develop dialogue
An advocate for the company in social media spaces - actively engages in industry dialogues where appropriate (forums, conferences, chats, blogs, wikis, video sharing, etc.) to position and promote the company’s key communication messages
o Identify and develop blog posts and other postings (relevant to the company and/or industry) needed to the company’s voice on blogs.
o Develop relationships with industry bloggers and blog editors
Monitoring
o Monitoring of sentiment and reporting of any issues and negative feedback
o Monitoring of social media trends and tools, applications, channels, design and strategy
o Monitoring of conversations in social channels that would provide a good segue to promote the company.
Monthly reporting – tracking and monitoring of effectiveness of campaign and initiatives
o Measure & analyse to determine ROI (Growth of Likes, Reach, Engagement, Leads, Sales)
Responsible along with the company’s Content and Editorial Manager to put forth and manage the editorial calendar to ensure all content is leveraged across social media channels
Social Media Manager must be in constant communication with the company’s PR agency, Marketing team and all corresponding departments according to the conversations online that are surrounding the company brand
