Job Description

StaffMatters is working with a leading international online gaming and sports betting company that are in the process of expanding their operations to Cyprus. With over 500 staff and established in 1998, Cyprus is their latest addition to their network of offices.

They are looking to hire an experienced AML & Regulatory Compliance Officer to be based at their offices in Limassol.

The main goal of the position will be to ensure the regulatory compliance of the betting operator company in Cyprus with the applicable internal and external Regulations (including betting, AML, marketing, broadcasting, Intellectual Property Law and other Regulations) as well as managing the relationship with the Regulatory Authorities.

The position will be responsible for:
Managing Regulatory and AML compliance of the Company, including ensuring the compliance of the Company processes, products and services with applicable legislation;
Assessing the compliance of the Company activities, documents with the applicable Regulations and rendering relevant recommendations, guidelines, memos;
Drafting/reviewing (and managing the approval process from the Regulatory Authorities, if necessary) of the rules, instructions, advertisement materials, etc. required for conducting the Company activities and amendments thereto (the terms and conditions under which the Company provides betting services to players, advertising plans and actions, responsible gambling/gaming messages, etc.);
Developing Company’s Regulation policies and procedures (AML, KYC, CTF, ABC, etc.);
Managing the application process to obtain the relevant licenses for conducting Company’s activities (e.g. license to provide betting services);
Representing the Company before the Regulatory authorities and in courts;
Serving as a key contact person of the Company with Regulatory authorities (National Betting Authority etc.);
Attending inquires (including inspections) on-site or off-site from Regulatory authorities and providing due assistance to the Regulator;
Sending relevant reports (of AML and other type) to Regulatory authorities;
Drafting/reviewing the correspondence on the compliance of the Company activities with the applicable Regulations and/or the Company rules (including players’ complaints);
Watching, review and preparing reports on regulation amendments and updating compliance policies;
Creating, implementing and maintaining AML Software/Database;
Participating in new products introduction process in the Company within the scope of the competence;
Ensuring timely, efficient identification and monitoring of the suspicious transactions and activities and rendering relevant recommendations;
Prepare periodic reports to the Company’s management;
Coordinating the Regulatory compliance process of the Company with the corporate group and the group policies;
Conducting training periodically (min. once a year, unless otherwise required by the Regulations) for the staff members involved in the relevant processes;
If necessary, reviewing agreements to be signed in the name of the Company from the Regulatory perspective and drafting relevant clauses;
Drafting/analyzing internal corporate legal documentation (director/shareholder decisions, amendments to the Company charter, etc.) and legal correspondence;
Researching local consultants and coordinating the relationship with them, if requested.

The ideal candidate will be/have:
Bachelor in Law or equivalent law degree;
At least 3 (three) years of work experience in gaming or other regulated industry;
Any relevant Certification or Approval from a Regulatory Body or Association

The working hours will be Monday – Friday from 11am – 7pm.

The Company is offering a competitive salary of up to 3000 Euros gross per month based on experience plus company benefits.
