CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a rapidly expanding CySEC Licensed Investment Firm with offices in Limassol, we are seeking to recruit a highly experienced and knowledgeable Head of Legal to join their team of professionals. The successful applicant will have a minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience, ideally working within the Financial Services sector.
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
- To provide support/advice on legal matters to the management.
- To work in collaboration with the Compliance department on regulatory matters.
- To work closely with external parties (external counsel, authorities, service providers, banks, Company Registrars etc.) in regards to legal and contractual matters.
- Prepare and execute legal documentation such as resolutions, power of attorneys.
- Assisting with the incorporation of companies, obtaining authorization, as well as additional corporate matters related thereto.
- Prepare and review various agreements and supporting documentation, drafting policies and procedures and manuals for the Legal Department.
- Opening of bank accounts, and completing bank related tasks such as reviewing the bank legal terms and conditions, KYC etc.
- Assisting and identifying proactive solutions for the operations of the Company with aim of eliminating/mitigating risks.
- Working with the business to ensure areas of risk are appropriately managed from a legal perspective.
Key Skills/Experience:
- Graduate with a Law degree from an accredited University.
- A minimum of 3-5 years’ legal experience in a similar role or within the financial industry. Must have a Cypriot or UK legal knowledge and background .
- Knowledge of Cyprus and EU legislation.
- Excellent command of English and Greek language, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite Package (Outlook, Word, Excel and Office 365).
- Ability to meet deadlines and to manage projects
- Ability to work under pressure and in a multi-level, multi-tasking mode.
- Teamwork driven and willingness to ensure results are achieved.
- Excellent organisational and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
